July 31 ~ SketchCrawl

It has been a busy summer for everyone...lot of full schedules... Soooo, I went out solo this morning. I was so glad I did too! Drew in a spot that I have never drawn before. Cathryn Alberstons Park is full of inspiration. But what really caught my artist eye were the lilies in bloom on the ponds...I spent the entire 2 hours in one spot, soaking in the sights... watched how the light changed the colors of the lily pads, and how quickly the flowers opened up to the sun. To top it all off, I came face to face with a young doe deer. She wasn't frightened of me and continued to graze about 15 feet from me.

Just beautiful! I like going out by myself on occasion, too. Sometimes I feel rushed when I'm on sketchcrawls with others.

Thank you Claire and Karen =) !

If i hadn't of had so many things pressing at home I think I would have stayed the entire day... ;) it was wonderful! Karen I still wish we lived closer so that we could get together and draw...wouldn't that just be the most amazing gift??
