Reunion 08
yes, we can...
ok, this is old now...but I finally added a touch of color...however the scan sucks and the colors are washed out yet the yellows are too bright... sigh...done fiddling with it for now. May try again later...
Florida Trip - Day 12
I think the Soarin' ride was Dave's favorite out of all the rides put together from all the parks. We didn't take any pictures that day...must have been running out of steam after two weeks. :)
Florida Trip - Day 11
I can honestly say that I have never been more afraid nor felt as much dread as I did when I turned around to find Hailey NOT behind me in that mob of people. Calling at the top of my voice for her and not hearing her call back.... it was worse than a bad dream.
Florida Trip - Day 10
Day 10 was spent baking in the HOT sun while waiting for the Star Wars action to begin... but it was worth every drop of sweat to see the smile on Alex's face when he was chosen to fight Darth Maul in a light saber battle.
Florida Trip - Day #9
just a small handful of the wonderful marine animals we enjoyed while visiting SeaWorld. The Sea Dragon in the center is a print out of the Sea Dragon I drew for one of the Moleskine Exchanges I'm participate in.
Florida Trip - Day #9
Sea World was one of my most favorite days of the whole trip. I think because we were relaxed, saw all the shows without having to run very far between them and then spent the rest of the day with the animals. The kids were getting along too, so that was a HUGE bonus! I have one more spread from this day that I'm almost done painting...
Florida Trip - Day #8
pitt pen, watercolor, colored pencil, collage
On some of the pages I have included the park map to help me remember some of the other things we saw, as well as some pictures.
Florida Trip - Day #7
pitt pen, watercolor, colored pencil
He doesn't look all that big here, however he was HUGE and made completely of Legos. You know the old saying "kid in a candy store..."? yep, that was definitely Alex! We had a hard time dragging him away. :)
Florida Trip - Days #5 & #6
The Guardian
pitt pen, watercolor & colored pencil
I love old cemeteries, one day I want to spend an entire afternoon drawing as many old headstones as I possible...
my what big teeth you have....
pitt pen, watercolor, colored pencil
These really are impressive fish to see up close :) Kind of like giant piranha....
Florida Trip Day #4
pitt pen, watercolor, colored pencil
It is kind of hard to tell what is going on here, but the lower section was a 2-3 min doodle of the docks just as the sun was starting to rise. Didn't have any time to spend on it before Dave's brother showed up. The top portion is the view I saw from the upper deck. Alex was sitting in the "fisherman's chair" awaiting his Amber Jack.
Florida Trip - Days 2-3
Finally getting around to coloring the pages from my journal from way back in JUNE!...
This is a bit of the architecture at the College in St. Augustine. I really wanted to sit and sketch but everyone with me wanted to move on...Someday, I am going on vacation with a bunch of artists. Probably wouldn't see as MUCH, but would actually be able to SEE what I am looking at...
Florida Trip - Day 1
Finally getting around to coloring the pages from my journal from way back in JUNE!...
imprints left behind.

I miss my sweet Angel, but at the same time I am also looking forward to getting all the hair out of my office. Is it weird to call new owners just to check up on how our pet is adjusting? I really want to....

worn out toys
I wish there were muddy tracks on the floor,
And the door going shut with a slam.
I wish there were thumb marks all over the doors
And holes in my pots and pans.
I wish there were toys and tops to fix
And a broken window pane.
A little old wagon and a worn out sled out in the storm and rain.
I wish there were little stockings to mend.
A few little bumps to kiss,
A little boy to send to school for never a day dare he miss.
I wish there were little boys to beg cookies, raisins and pie.
I wish my donuts would travel off the pantry shelf on the sly.
But the days of these little tasks are gone
The days of such care oppressed
There is a heartache that only parents can know.
A longing that is never guessed when loving hearts is young manhood glow or planning for mother to rest
No thought of the memories of olden time
Have my boys grown so big and strong
Memories that come like sweet chime of the time when life was a song.
They know not the hours that sometime were spent
They guess not they are grown up boys
That mother is silently looking over a boy or their worn out toys.
And you can’t blame me and wonder
Instead if I long for the years to turn back again
When those men were just little boys.

March 1904 – August 1996
Drew this little spot illustration for a friend. Her grandmother wrote the poem and she wanted to frame the poem to give to her mother.
Farewell...
Dave's parents have been gone for over a month now and it does feel strange not to see them every week. We have been getting so nice pictures from Bulgaria and the kids are learning how to email letters to grandma and grandpa.
Have I mentioned how diffucult i find it to draw people while they are moving around? I always seem to distort their faces
