"a storm is brewing"

"a storm is brewing" ~ acrylic and ink

Book of Dreams
dreamt: June 28th, 2011 (41st Birthday)

"Dreamt that I was balancing a tornado on my fingertip, feeling very pleased that I was able to keep it from blocking the path I was planing on taking. After moving the smaller tornado aside I went inside, only to peer out the window and see dozens of mile wide tornados coming straight at the house...I woke up to the horror settling in my stomach knowing there wasn't anything I could do to stop them all."

I think my Book of Dreams is my favorite journal at the moment. It has been energizing working with acrylics / collage again, my other journals are mainly watercolor and ink.
In regards to this particular dream, it was very apparent what the underlying message was... I have no control over most of what happens in my life. I can attempt control, but ultimately the more I try to control it the more life throws at me.

Fantastic Lisa! I was hoping we'd get to see this dream ever since you mentioned it. It's odd...because your dream is much how I feel about things these days. Wonderful, wonderful page.

It's good to have journals with very different media, don't you think? I too use ink and watercolor a lot, but I have a very personal journal going that is lots of vibrant acrylic and collage...very different from my usual...and also perfect for what I want to express there.

:) Hi Joyce!! Thanks so much for popping by!!
I think this dream has stayed with me mostly because it hasn't been resolved yet... sigh. So I'm glad I took the time to get it down on paper while the feelings are still fresh.

YES! I am now loving having more than one journal. I love my daily visual journal with ink & watercolor, but after 5 years I was ready to use a different medium. I struggled at first... but have now embraced the freedom. I think this book is much more expressive and a lot less "safe". I feel like I am finally finding my voice.
